The jury cited that the scheme is an office tower with an interesting spiral green ramp translating the horizontal low rise streetscape into vertical which creates a conducive office environments by the external perforated skin building envelope, optimising daylight, natural ventilation and sun shading from direct sunlight contributing effectively to achieving GBI Gold rating. The buffer space serves for people interaction and provides an all round views to KL city centre.
The design which was called The 3sixty stated that every corporate HQ thrives for the definitive iconic form. Everyone can do that in many ways - everyone can develop an iPad application. But Menara OSK is located in the middle of a conduit between two LRT stations and is at the centre of the new hub of Kuala Lumpur, facing one of the world's most recognised icon with variety of amazing views all around.
The story of Kuala Lumpur unfolds 360 degree around the new Menara OSK. The spiral green ramp connects Menara OSK with the new KL hub and the rest of the city.
The spiral green ramp is the building's own green conduit:
- It is a semi outdoor park
- It has a natural environment
- It provides shading but allows light
- It provides an alternative journey between floors
- It is a walking and bicycling route
- It is the building's energy conduit
The 3sixty experience give the building its form and the heart of its green features. It coheres with OSK Plaza at the ground level which then connects with the pedestrian conduit at the main street.
